The NURIC project (Capacity Building in Nursing Informatics Competencies to Foster the Digital Transformation of Healthcare) is an international initiative that aims to improve nursing informatics skills for students and professionals in this field. This project is funded by the Erasmus+ program and involves partners from various countries, including Austria, Kosovo, Israel, Italy and Greece.
The main objectives of NURIC include the development, piloting and evaluation of flexible educational programs in nursing informatics, offering nano-courses and certification programs based on international digital competence standards, adapted to local needs. In Kosovo, the project focuses on providing informatics skills to nursing students in secondary vocational education and on providing continuing education for nursing professionals.
To ensure sustainability and quality of teaching, NURIC implements a “train-the-trainer” approach to train instructors in the latest teaching methods in nursing informatics. The project also aims to raise awareness among stakeholders about the role of nursing informatics specialists and employment opportunities in this field.
In September 2024, a workshop organized by AAAPARr was held at the Competence Center in Ferizaj, emphasizing the importance of building capacities in nursing informatics for the digitalization of healthcare.
Meanwhile, on February 17 and 18, 2025, a workshop organized by the NURIC project was held at the Unicamillus University in Rome, attended by Fikrije Zymberi, director of the Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education, and officials of this institution.
